Back in Action....

Well, it has been quite some time since my last post. The end of the school year craziness always gets me. No matter how much I anticipate the stress and try to eliminate the work, it never ceases to amaze me that I am always left with a huge amount of stuff to do! After school got out for the summer on June 3rd, Dave and I wasted no time and headed off for two weeks to Europe! It was a memorable adventure. We started out in Italy, a place that neither of us had traveled too. We explored Rome inside and out and fell in love with the history of the city and all the ruins. We then headed south to Naples. We discovered our best meals here; the pizza and gelato where exquisite on our palates. We ventured off to Capri, Positano and the Amalfi Coast for day trips. The beauty in this part of the world was breathtaking. We then flew over to Nice, France. I loved the Flower Market and one day we even bought fruits, veggies, and the fixings for sandwiches (fresh bread, prosciutto, and cheese) and took a picnic to the beach. We also got to see a bit of the Italian Riviera. We finished our stay in Monaco, a magnificent fairy tale country. It was the most amazing trip and first wedding anniversary.

We returned back to the states where I jumped back into tutoring, enrolling in a yoga class, joining Zumba with some of my colleagues and scrapbooking. Before I knew it, it was July and we were off to spend Fourth of July in Raleigh, North Carolina. We spent this long weekend with my brother-in-law and sister-in-law as well as the cutest nephew, Roark. We had so much fun going off to a festival, hanging at the pool and just having some nice family time.

Now, it is the end of July and I am off to my last trip of the summer. I am headed back to Kansas to visit family, friends and attend my 10 year high school reunion. When I get back, I will only have a few short weeks before school will begin. August will be a busy month, I'm helping to throw a bridal shower and we have a handful of friends coming to visit. I am excited to get back into blogging. I am not sure when I will start back up with my Wardrobe Wednesdays again, but I promise to try to post one soon!

Taking a Blogging Break

As my school year wraps up, I have decided to take a break from blogging. My Wardrobe Wednesdays are taking a back seat. I don't think too many people will miss them, considering I only have a small number of followers. The beginning and end of a teacher's year are always the most stressful. In the next three weeks I have to write grade cards, make a purchase order for next year's classroom items, prepare my students for their student-led conferences as well as their moving up ceremony, pack my classroom up for the summer, read/research about Europe, pack and prepare for Europe and welcome my visitors from Kansas City!!! I am under pressure. I will occasionally add some updates of photos to my blog, but I probably won't have a lot of time to write! Enjoy the last few weeks of May.

Time to pack up the classroom for the year!

Wardrobe Wednesday

I have chosen this week to write about a recent partnership between Calypso St. Barth and Target. Starting May 1st Target collaborated with Calypso and started selling a spring line at their stores. Calypso is a resort-style wear that has lots of fun prints and colors, it is beach chic. It is very popular with celebrities like Jennifer Aniston. The Target line includes clothing and house ware items and generally the pieces are under $80. They have beautiful women's clothing as well as adorable children's clothing. Calypso's things can run up to $800. I had several friends that ran right out to purchase the clothing. One of my friends went onto Target's website and ordered about $200 worth of merchandise the first day. Some of the feedback I have heard is that the items fit big. If you usually wear a medium then you might want to get a small. I have also heard that you can tell the quality isn't as good as you would expect. I decided to go to Target and take a look myself. Just like I thought, when I got there I noticed that most of the clothes had been picked over. The only things that were left on the racks were the larger sizes. I did find an xs small dress and since I knew the sizes ran big, I grabbed it to try on in the fitting room. I found that the dress fit perfectly. I loved the beading around the neckline and the rope tie belt. It is a perfect summer dress. My favorite part of the dress was the pockets. The price was $49. Many of the Calypso items are perfect for Florida living. Take a look at the website for your self!

Wardrobe Wednesday

Field Trip day!!! If you're like me and you work with kids, then you need inexpensive outfits that you can afford to get paint on a.k.a. ruined. The outfit I picked out this week was for a field trip to see a play at the Coral Springs Performing Arts Theatre. I knew I wanted to wear red because the students were wearing red and I wanted to match them. :) I also wanted to wear layers in case the theatre was cold and I wanted to wear comfortable walking shoes. Here is what I came up with!

School Field Trip Outfit
Navy Shirt: Nordstrom
Red Shirt: Target
Olive Green Skinny Cargo Pants: Target
Shoes: Tom's-Nordstrom
Necklace: Aldo
Earrings: Target
Bracelet: Banana Republic
Watch: Michael Kors

Wardrobe Wednesday

I love white t-shirts!! I swear I can never have enough. There are so many ways you can dress up or dress down a white t-shirt. Sometimes I throw on a colored sports bra and a white t-shirt with yoga pants to work out. Other times I throw on a funky scarf with a white t-shirt to make the colors on the scarf pop. So, for this week's "Wardrobe Wednesday" I decided to show 10 ways to wear a white t-shirt. Dig out those crazy earrings that don't match anything in your closet and throw on a white t-shirt with them!!!

10 Ways to Wear a White T-Shirt

White on white is great for a summer dressy look

I love these dark jeans with a white t-shirt and an orange scarf

Grab a strapless dress and throw a white t-shirt under it for a high fashion outfit

Tuck in a baggy white shirt and grab some colorful shorts

The tribal look is very in right now; add some fun accessories to your white shirt.

Throw on a floppy hat and colorful belt.

A black blazer with bright pants makes any white t-shirt exciting

Add some neutrals with a long necklace and a belt over the t-shirt

Make your look relaxed with a loose white t-shirt and shorts

Add a vest and jean shorts to give your white t-shirt a casual day out

Hope this gives you some inspiration for a new outfit with an old white t-shirt!!!
