Organizing

Organizing is something that makes me smile. When I find something to organize in the house, I get really excited. As a teacher, I tend to spend my summers organizing a new section of the condo. One of my biggest accomplishments was a few summers ago. I went to Bed, Bath & Beyond and bought plastic shoe boxes. I took pictures of all my shoes and Velcro-ed the pictures to the shoe boxes. I did this because if I decide to get rid of the shoes, then I can just take a picture of a new pair and put it on the box. I then color coded my closet by tank tops, short sleeves, long sleeves, skirts and dresses. I also have boxes labeled with holiday decorations in the guest room. I recently bought a Jewelery hanger for all my earrings. I organized them by silver and gold pieces and then by colors. It is ridiculous how amazing this stuff makes me feel!

Okay, so my Mother-in-law was cleaning out her basement and came across a label maker. She offered it to me and I quickly snatched it up. When I got back to Florida I scavenged around my house to find 6 batteries to get it started. Well, right away I began labeling my plastic drawers in my closet.  Many of these drawers are things like socks and underwear. But I did have a drawer that I labeled "Sports Bars" instead of "Sports Bras". I learned a lesson from this, make sure you spell check your labels before printing them or else you might end up with a sports bar in your closet. As I continued doing this, I started "dreaming" about how my next big project will be to label the pantry in the kitchen. As my eyes lit up and I did a giddy little dance around the house, my husband started getting worried. I think he is afraid he is going to wake up tomorrow with the whole house labeled including himself! Well, here is what I have done so far and I highly recommend investing in a label maker for yourself....
